Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) Collaborate with PSA X to register beneficiaries into PhilSys
Cagayan de Oro City – 4Ps Work Closely with PSA X in Registering Grantee to PhilSys
The 4Ps Regional Project Management Office has worked closely with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), to register all beneficiaries under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).
This year, 4Ps RPMO has registered a total of 1,249,634 beneficiaries to the system. The registration started in October and has been going on for three months now.
4Ps Division Chief Kenneth Haze Sanchez Lustre assured PSA X Regional Director Janeth C. Aves of continued support to the statistics authority in enrolling 4Ps beneficiaries to the PhilSys.
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps): Implemented by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), is the national poverty reduction strategy of the government as stated under the Republic Act No. 11310 or “An Act institutionalizing Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)” which was signed on April 17, 2019. Patterned after the conditional cash transfer scheme implemented in other developing countries, 4Ps provides cash grants to beneficiaries provided that they comply with the set of conditions required by the program. The program aims to improve the health, nutrition, and education of children aged 0-18.
The National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction (NHTS-PR) identifies beneficiaries. The program provides conditional cash transfers for a maximum period of seven years.
Some of the benefits of 4Ps include:
- Pregnant women receive pre- and post-natal care.
- Children 0 to 5 years old receive complete immunization, weight monitoring, nutrition counseling, and preventive health services.
- Children 6 to 14 receive de-worming pills twice a year.
- Students receive financial assistance to buy their needs.
