Northern Mindanao Minimum Wage Increase: Good News for Workers!
Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines – Good news for workers in Northern Mindanao! The first tranche of the Region X wage increase is in effect starting January 11, 2024.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) issued Wage Order No. RX-22, which means a P23 daily increase to the minimum wage across all categories, effective December 19, 2023.
That’s not all! There’s an additional P10 coming on July 1, 2024, bringing the total increase to a welcome P33 per day.
Here’s a breakdown of the news:
Effective Date: December 19, 2023 (first tranche of P23)
Second Tranche: July 1, 2024 (additional P10)
New Minimum Wage:
Non-agriculture sector: P423 to P438 per day
Agriculture sector: P411 to P426 per day
This boost to the minimum wage is a significant step towards a more livable income for workers in Northern Mindanao. It’s important to remember, though, that the cost of living also keeps rising.
