Mechanics:
1. The dancers must interpret by draw lots skill dances.
2. In dances where the author does not specify or describe the entrance and/or exit steps, the trainer may create such. However, entrance steps must not be longer than the dance itself.
3. Entrance and exit should not exceed one (1) minute each.
4. The dance must be accompanied by the music prescribed in the folk-dance book enumerated above or any tape-recorded music. Live or taped music is allowed.
5. Dancers should be composed minimum of 15 and maximum of non, only composed of all males/females or combination of both.
6. Interpretation and storyline must be present during the contest proper.
7 Staging may be implemented but the authenticity of the dance steps, strictly proper attire/costume with props and music must be observed.
The decision of the judges is final and non-revocable.
Top three (3) winners will receive a cash prize and a plaque; consolation prize will also receive cash and a certificate of participation.
Competition will be on May 1, 2024 in the evening.
Criteria:
40% – Choreography
Formation and transitions, difficulty, and creativity
20% – Technique
Execution and precision of movements
30% – Group Execution and Costume
Blockings, general impression, costume, energy and dynamism
10% – Overall Production
Communication and production
100% – Overall Possible Point
