Event Name: Drum and Lyre Competition

Mechanics:
1. The drum and lyre corps competition is an exhibition of performing drum corps in their free interpretation of three (3) musical pieces of their choice.
2. This is open to all aspiring drum and lyre corps.
3. Participating groups shall have a minimum of 35 members and a maximum of none. Inclusive of musical players, instrumentalists, majorettes, flag bearers, or movers, and is encouraged to infuse the bugle/s.
4. Mechanical instruments, electronics or motor engines are not allowed. Only batons flags and other props such as pompoms, banners, etc. are allowed to be used.
No instrument shall be pushed or dragged using a roller and others. Ten (10) points will be deducted from the total points of the group violating this particular guideline.
5. Each participating group must at least have a majorette.
6. Competing groups are given 10-15 minutes of performance inclusive of the entrance and exit. Three (3) points will be deducted from the final score for every minute fraction thereof who will exceed the time allotted. Timers are commissioned by the organizers to do the tasks.
7. Costumes of the participants must be modest and decent form. Pyrotechnics and hazardous or dangerous props are strictly prohibited.
8. Designated representatives of all participating contingents are required to attend the final briefing session to be held before the competition.
9. A panel of distinguished board of judges shall determine the winners.
10. Registration will start on April 15, 2024, at the BCPC Office with a Registration Fee of P1,500.00 upon confirmation and look for the Panagsal-aw Secretariat.
11. Deadline of the submission confirmation of entries will be on April 30, 2024, at the BCPC office Brgy Kauswagan, Cagayan de Oro City at the Secretariat.
12. Competition will be held on May 14, 2024.
13. Discrepancies in the rules and/or competition: Any problem or discrepancy during the competition will be brought to the attention of the competition organizer who will address it with the chairman of the board of judges, and/or the chairman of Panagsal-aw Festival, and the respective made decisions will be final.
14. The decision of the Board of Judges is final and irrevocable

40% – Performance
(Mastery, Choreography, and Coordination)
35% – Musicality
15% – Costume
10% – Overall impact
100% – Total Possible Points
