CDO Fastest-Growing City in Northern Mindanao According to Philippine Statistics Authority Data
Cagayan de Oro City – Cagayan de Oro City is the fastest-growing city in Northern Mindanao region recording an impressive growth in 2022 per Philippine Statistics Authority.
In a press release posted by Philippine Statistics Authority last December 4, 2023, Northern Mindanao’s economy boomed in 2002. Cagayan de Oro shone brightly in 2022 as the Northern Mindanao region’s economic powerhouse, achieving a remarkable 9.4% growth rate. This impressive performance led the region, where five out of seven economies surpassed the average growth of 7.2%.
Northern Mindanao is on the rise, and Cagayan de Oro City is leading the way!
Out of the PhP 935.30 billion total, Cagayan de Oro’s GDP contribution amounted to PhP 261.48 billion, making it the region’s economic powerhouse. Bukidnon also played a significant role, contributing PhP 249.37 billion. In contrast, Camiguin’s contribution was the smallest at PhP 11.22 billion.
